Thanksgiving

Our normal Thanksgiving gathering usually consisted of a small group of us. 2 Aunts , Uncle, 4 Cousins, my daughter and me and Grandma. This year was very different. We had my Aunt's brother back after many years, my husband , my step son and my mom after being MIA ( at work) the past 5yrs , with all the rest of us. I was wondering how my Aunt was going to accomodate all of us but she did an amazing job on everything. Her food is always the best so there's never any question on that, but how she was able to fit this large number of people, I give her props for being brave enough to accomplish it smoothly. My husband hasn't had a Thanksgiving in many years nor one that he felt completely accepted and comfortable at. He really had a good time, laughing , joking, and just being a family with us. There's one person missing that I miss sharing this time with, and that's my brother. I did get to talk to him today though and say Happy Thanksgiving to him. I hope he had a good one out where he's at.
Something was said by my step son that I didn't like and I did brush it off of course because he doesn't understand the meaning of it. No it wasn't a swear word, lol. It was something his mother said about my daughter. For three years now she has been saying things, cruel things about my daughter and it's time for her to grow up. Children should never be brought in the middle of pettiness, yet this person seems to think she's high and mighty and better than the world. If an adult has something to say to another adult then do it. Don't use children to deliver the message. My daughter's name is Raine and no it has nothing to do with raining the day she was born. Her name meant alot to my mom and I kept a 15yr promise to name my daughter for my mom. Calling a child Thunderstorm and wind or whatever she calls Raine is going to stop. I would never say anything to this woman in front of my kids but I will not stand for this any longer. If you're jelous of someone you left and that person you left got remarried then who gives you the right to be jelous and take things out on children? See no answer here for that one cuz there is no logical reason. Get a grip and grow up is what I say to people like that. lol
I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving and good night all.

Raine's New School and Time for school for too

Raine started her first day at her new school today. Everyone was so excited abouther being there that the entire class knew her name and had one boy who wanted to sit by her but the teacher had already put her nextto someone else, lol. It was cute. They all seem very nice and the VP came in to introduce herself, though I don't know when she left the room because I was busy getting her situated and giving the teacher my number to call if Raine gets scared. I don't think she will feel that way too long, especially when it comesto recess. It was really sweet of this one boy that said something about how short she was and that there are other kids as "tall" as her. He was one of the really tall ones.
The thing I think I miss the most about a conventional school is that you get meet people and see them every day you're there. With online schooling it's hard to truly interact with one another when you can't see them face to face. Many of the classes would be easier to understand if I were in a regular class room setting. They say this also makes it very convenient, for who? Not me. When it's time for live class or live chat as they call it, everyone's home and not willing to let me focus on what's being taught. Plus during the day there are things that need to be done and homework, so late nights are the other option. I have been in school now for 10 months and almost finished! Woohoo! Only 3 more sessions (5 1/2 weeks each) so meaning approximately 5 months to go. I have done quite well for having been out of school for so long and only two C's out of all those classes. Not bad. Well, it's time to get crackin on my first two assignments that are due Monday. I figure if I can get somewhat ahead then if a really tough assignment comes along I won't be so far behind. I'm rarely ever late but it's still the rushing to get it done on time that I'd prefer not to do. Enjoy this blustery cold day and I'll be inside staying warm and studying, lol. Tootles

Moved In At Last!

Greg and I moved Friday until 1 am and picked up the last load Saturday after he got off of work. Since it was just him and I , I couldn't be very helpful with the really big stuff. Plus my little car doesn't carry much, lol. I went from a big Caprice to a tiny Maxima, definately makes moving a bit difficult when it comes to space and where the kids wound sit. I like this new house and it does have a lot of potential with the limited bedroom space and lack of working outlets and switches. I will miss my old yard that lead to lake and free fishing any time, and bon fires when it's chilly and cabintet space! That would really nice right abt now. But shelves in the kitchen look nice and this kitchen is huge! Compared to my last one. The living room has an extra large space and I think I'm going to use it as a sitting area for me and Greg with our rocking chairs and Herbie's bed. I like toread and I get lost in the books so that's a space I won'tbe disturbing anyone. I have an office space so all of my school things, art easle, book shelf and anything else that will be nice to have in my office will be in there. It's in the front of the house and sive I spend 40 plus hours per week on homework (online classes) I will be out of everyone's way and I can get peace and quiet to study. Eventually everything will be as we want it and cute. One of my friend's came over and her son kept my kids occupied in the play room and she n I unpacked the kitchen and moved the bedroom things in their proper places. I haven't hung out with her in ages. I am really going to miss one of my very close friends that lived next door to me in Antioch though. I liked being able to yell over the fence to talk to her and walk to each other's houses in our pjs, lol. All in all though, this will be a good place to to live and this year I can finally enjoy Christmas decorating. I have a pine tree in my front yard so X-mas lights can go outside too, yay. As soon as things are settled I will post pics of my new (as my Grandpa says) digs. Tata for now.

Moving Day Is Upon Us, yuck

Well, tomorrow is the last day in our old place. I hate moving, as does everone who has ever had to move. Even though everything is packed accept necessities, it looks as though nothing is packed. Why is that? It doesn't matter how I organize all these boxes (the ones i can move) it never seems out of the way. I forgot to metion that I heard from my long lost brother the other day! Oh it was great to hear his voice again. When we were little we were typical sibblings, fighting all the the time and since he was a boy Gram spoiled him big time. lol. But he is now 26yrs old and sounds so different. Since it's been forever since I last spoke to him via phone and now have his email add, I emailed him a ton of pics of us. They're all on my computer so it's the only way I can send them to people. I'm so glad he's okay and doing good out there. I'm a big sis alright, I worry about him. Not to the point where it consumes me on a daily basis but on a daily basis he pops in my head. Now that I know how to reach him it's comforting. With classes finally ending and all of the moving stuff to do, it's a wonder that I haven't completely insane, lol. Well, it's back to work on my cleaning n finish packing ugh. Tootles

Jack Frost Was Here!

Jack Frost was here last night and I think this is the first official frost of the year. Even if it isn't this is the first I've seen frost all over the yard and my car. It went from 70 degrees last week and by the end of the week it droped like 30 degrees, burrr. This winter is supposed to be much worse than last year and I thought last year was bad. Well, I'm moving on Friday and getting everything ready is a huge hassle while I'm still in class. Getting all of the utilities and internet switched on time is like pulling teeth! What is so hard about turning something off and flipping a switch to turn it on in a house that has already had ATT there. There is absolutely no logical reason why they can't do their job. Today is my last day for classes this session so that will be a big load off my mind for a couple days til my next classes begin. It's only a 6 day break between them and that will be for moving and hoping my internet gets turned on on time, unlike the last time. Anyway, this house is bigger in many ways but smaller bedrooms , which is fine for me because the kids will have a playroom and toys can stay in there only. My large 7 month old puppy will love the extra space, then he can chase Boots (my 4yr old cat) all around the house, lol. The house needs some TLC but this X-mas will be nice because I get to decorate outside and make it all cozy inside. I can't wait!

I just noticed not only is Christmas almost here but so is my ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY! Wow. This year has been so hecktic and crappy at times because of a certain someone. So when I realized how soon my anniversary will be here, I started planning for our honeymoon. The day we got married we went out to eat and then came home and watched a movie with our daughter. To us, a honeymoon is not a getaway to a foreign country, it's just a couple nights to ourselves in another town. So I found a hotel that had what we wanted and I have been ordering things here and there for Greg's present. It's for both of us but he has no idea. We don't have anything made with our names and wedding date on it. Mr. and Mrs. Rymer is what he would like if I get something embroidered. It's easy to ask him little things because he doesn't ever have a clue to what I'm working on until the day he opens the present.
I'm doing all of this planning while finishing up my classes and getting prepared to move next week. The great thing is about moving to this new place is because I can finally set up my X-mas tree the way I want and still have room. For once I can put X-mas lights on the outside of the house! Simple things like that make Greg n I happy and feel content. One of things I'm doing for our anniversary present is simple and sweet , that's what my husband likes. We are so much alike that it makes it simple to come up with ideas for the holidays.
This is one of my favorite times of the year.

Only 52 days til Christmas!!!!

Boy October went by really fast, didn't it? Halloween was a hecktic day but turned out to be so much fun. Not only for the kids but for us too. We went to visit my mom at work (Lake Bluff PD). They had a hotdog roast and the whole town gets into the spirit of Halloween. My husband dressed up for our daughter's school Boo Bash fundraiser and we were photoed for the year book but he didn't want to dress up for trick or treating. My mom took a pic of us and posted it on her blog and who knows it might end up on the PD website.

Now that Halloween has come and (my fav holiday), it's time to worry about X-mas :( That's scary thought. My daughter hasn't come up with anything good for me to tell Santa but my step son sure has, lol. This year we will actually have a place for the tree and a house to put lights on! Woohoo! My puppy's first X-mas and who knows how he will react to the train under the tree though. This might be my train's last year after Herbie's done with it :)
