5 more days of school and only 3 more days til X-mas

5 more days until these two classes end! Yes! Finally almost done. Just two more assignments and hopefully I get them done before Wednsday so I can get my house in order so I can relax in my rocking chair. Yes I have a rocking chair, I may be only 28 but I've always wanted one so I can read my Nicolas Sparks books and Anne of Green Gables set. My husband will eventually sand it down and stain it the way I want it to look. Shhh, I've been looking for one for him too:)

Raine made me get cookies for Santa and of course we can't forget about the reindeer's carrots. So everything will be all set for the jolly old man to wiggle his nose and magically appear near my lopsided tree. And right after Christmas is my 1 year wedding anniversary! No plans yet but dinner and a movie sound good to me. I can skip class for a night out with my best man any day.

Do you ever notice right before Christmas you get sick? I did and now Raine is really sick. Poor peanut. She's pail as can be and can't breathe. Oh I feel so bad because I probably gave it to her. I want to giggle a bit over that but she'd give me that evil look. Which is the same look my mom gives lol. When Raine said she didn't feel like eating, I knew there was something a muck going on inside her. She even took medicine without a fuss. Yup she's sick alright and she zonked out in a few minutes. This will be a long night...
Well, good night ya'll and I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas with your family and friends and stays warm if you live in this freezing weather like us!

Tree is up and more snow on the way

With Christmas right around the corner and I have classes right through with no break, I've been quite busy. I finally got my tree finished (for the most part). I left some of the ornaments in the box because of fear they will get broke by Mr. Herbie. He's doing much better and leaving the tree alone though, I'm so proud of him:) But just in case he gets curious again the breakables are safe.My tree is lopsided and my Grandma's angel won't stand straight up no matter what I do! Ggrrr! Some of the decorations have been trampled by a very curious and stubborn puppy, so this year I will not be picky and deal with it the way it is. Tis the season to just let things go and relax. HA no one does that!(it looks like poo doesn't it,lol)

Anyway... yesterday was so cold that everything was all one thick sheet of ice. There will be absolutely no driving for me anymore when it's like that. It took 2hrs to get my car defrosted and as I was leaving Raine's school I slid right into a delivery truck . I tried to veer into the grass but I still managed to bump him. All is well though, no damage done and no one was hurt. Now there's supposed to be a lot of snow tonight and tomorrow and I'm staying put!
Well it's time for class got to go...

More Snow

Monday it was raining and then it turned to ice coming down. I went to my car , unburied it thinking "I can get out of the driveway " because I made sure there was nothing but gravel under my tires. Nope! It took me 30 minutes to get out! Now after the rain and ice, down came lots of snow, figures. Don't get me wrong, I love snow and it's beautiful while it's coming down and makes everything so crisp and peaceful in it's winter slumber. But ... the slanted driveway does not give up. It keeps me from going anywhere. I took some pictures of the snow falling but it doesn't pick up the details of the no visibility and the large blanket of a snow filled sky that I could see.

Last night we dug the cars out of the snow and I looked over and saw Herbie finally enjoying all that white stuff, lol. He looked so funny with his head burrowing in that big snow pile. And soon I will be able to take the kids sledding and get some funny pics of Greg fallin on his tush, lol. I'll definately post those. Well , it's time to continue crackin on this Science project. Ta ta for now

Tree is still not up

Okay, I've been trying to my tree up for a while now. It's up, lights are on it but nothing else. Plus some of my stuff is missing. Every year that happens. It would have been done if my homework hadn't been calling me. Priorities first then hopefully X-mas decorating . I did manage to get those class bulbs up but I found one on the floor all chewed up and my box of chocolate covered cherries eaten! Yup my puppy had a fit this morning before I got up. He's so big that he get on the table, counters and on the sink to steel my toothbrushes. He's such a brat! Just like kids, wouldn't you think they would be good so they don't get yelled at? I'd rather get praised and earn things than get yelled at or get grounded. But hey that would make sense and kids (and puppies)would rather it be difficult than easy. Anyway, time to get crackin at this paper I have to write and finish my decorating finally. Ta ta for now

Cristmas Spirit

For some reason I don't feel that rush of Christmas spirit I usually feel by now. I still haven't had time to put the tree up or lights and decorations anywhere. Maybe that's why I feel frumpy. I should feel a great relief that this year is coming to an end very soon but I sit and wonder how 2009 will play out. Hopefully much better than this year. Crossing my fingers for that.
Well, Shop With A Cop went very well. Raine was so sweet and very comfortable to walk around with an officer by herself. She picked out a present for Ethan, Greg, and I. Then she said bluntly (this was too funny) "I spent the rest on me, mommy. " LOL Greg n I were given an oportunity to shop for Ethan sice he couldn't be there with us. So we got both kids something and decided since we will be getting tons of snow that we should get them mini shovels and sleds. I can't wait until Ethan visits and sees the shovels. The night of Shop With a Cop it snowed and was very dreary looking outside. Plus the roads were very slick and visibility wasn't greatest. During the day the sky slowly went from blue to snowy , so I wanted to take a picture of the snow falling and of the sky but of course I forgot my camera. Yup, I'm starting to act like my mom with the camera, lol. Haha mom! But it's true. I hate the cold and I'm a hermit in the winter but when it snows at night I love how it feels on my face and it's beautiful. Not the after effects though.
Anyway, I'm hoping for another night of soft snowfall and sitting outside all bundled up enjoying every minute of it. Time to finish my homework, it's due today and I have tons to do. Maybe I'll have time to get the tree up today. I do it by myself and that's another reason I keep putting it off. All that work for just a few weeks and then taking it down. Well, ta ta for now..

First Real Snowfall

The first real sticky snowfall was a couple of nights ago. It was pretty looking out the window at it but by morning I found out it was a mix of ice and snow. Yup you guessed it ,I fell, lol. Then of course getting my car up the big hill to get to Raine's bus stop was fun, sort of. Herbie's first experience with snow wasn't as funny as I had hoped. He just sniffed everywhere thinking his yard disappeared. So the picture I have isn't going to be a goofy one but it's still cute.

I received an email quiz about Christmas favorites. My mom reminded me that my cabage patch infant I received in 1985 she bought for me. This was 23 yrs ago and back then Santa got it for me, so all these yrs I thought my Grandpa bought it. Oops sorry mom :) I don't have anymore and not by choice. But I do have something from back then my mom would be surprised to see. It's a hand puppet clown. The nuses from the hospital in Kenosha used to make these to keep kids calm when they're scared. I don't remember exactly when I got it but I think it was from my first surgery or one of my hospital visits because of my ears.
